Opera Hong Kong proudly presents Gaetano Donizetti's timeless masterpiece, 'The Elixir of Love' (L'elisir d'amore). As one of the composer's most successful works, this two-act opera is celebrated as a classic comic masterpiece. Through this semi-staged performance, the audience will experience the heartfelt, emotive arias of the Romantic era, capturing the pure devotion of Nemorino as he buys a 'love potion' and even signs an enlistment contract to win the heart of his beloved Adina.
Program
The production is led by renowned conductor Olsi Qinami and directed by the accomplished director Tang Xinxin, who has successfully collaborated with Opera Hong Kong for three consecutive years, including 'The Merry Widow' and 'The Abduction from the Seraglio'. The performance will feature the Opera Hong Kong Orchestra and Chorus, delivering a musical feast that balances high-level artistry with dramatic depth. The opera will be performed in Italian with both Chinese and English surtitles.
