The Asian Avant-Garde Film Festival 2026 returns to the M+ Cinema in the West Kowloon Cultural District for its third edition. Running from 29 to 31 May 2026, this year's festival, themed "Space Enter Shift," brings together pioneering artists and filmmakers from across Asia to explore how we navigate physical, psychological, and machine-generated spaces.

Programme Highlights

• Curated Screenings: Delve into experimental narratives that challenge mainstream storytelling. A central highlight is the programme Quest: Journeys in Mind and Space, which treats the cosmos as both an unpredictable field and an ordered system of introspection.
• Live Performances: Experience the premiere of Tracking Nomadism (2026), a collaborative work by Emirati photographer Lamya Gargash and Singaporean sound artist Vivian Wang.
• Festival Lounge: Located in the M+ Moving Image Centre, the lounge serves as a daily hub for artist talks, VR experiences, and screen-printing workshops. Access is free and on a drop-in basis.
