Program Overview

The "Radiant Colors — Tang Sancai Technical Experience" workshop, hosted by the Hong Kong Museum of History, offers a unique opportunity to uncover the secrets behind the legendary Tang Sancai ceramics. In this immersive workshop, participants will be guided by experienced instructors to delve into the artistic characteristics and historical background of Tang Sancai. You will experience the tactile joy of applying glazes to ceramic blanks firsthand, fostering a deeper appreciation for the meticulous skills of ancient artisans. It is an educational journey that blends historical insight with hands-on creativity.

Important Notes & Registration

Due to the specific requirements of the firing process, participants will not take their pieces home on the day of the workshop. The glazed blanks will be transported to a specialized pottery studio for professional firing. The finished pieces will be returned to the museum approximately three weeks later for collection. Please be aware that there is an inherent risk of damage during transportation and firing; the organizers accept no liability for any such potential damage.

The event takes place on June 14, 2026, and is free of charge. As demand is expected to be high, spots will be allocated via computer ballot. Applicants should register through the designated online system during the specified period (May 15 to May 16). For inquiries, please contact Hulu Culture.
