We, Say Goodbye: A Journey of Letting Go

Presented as part of the French May Arts Festival 2026, "We, Say Goodbye" is a deeply emotional modern dance performance choreographed and performed by To Wing. Through movement, the production invites the audience to contemplate the inevitable transitions of life: "If you were to leave tomorrow, who would you want to see before the end? Life is like a tide—how do we learn to let go?"

Artistic Vision and Methodology

The work is rooted in the performance methodology of the renowned French theater educator Jacques Lecoq. By integrating these techniques into contemporary dance, the choreographer aims to strip away the unnecessary, allowing the body to speak with simplicity and power. As To Wing explains, the inspiration came from her training with Kei Man-shun of Theatre Noir, which fundamentally reshaped her understanding of physical expression. The piece is crafted to guide the audience toward a sense of peace and love upon leaving the theater.
