The Box 7.0: A New Frontier in Street Dance Theatre

The Hong Kong Street Dance Theatre Development Project (The Box) returns for its seventh edition, continuing its mission to bridge the gap between street dance culture and contemporary theatre. The Box 7.0 serves as a vital platform for choreographers to experiment, pushing the boundaries of movement, rhythm, and storytelling. This year’s programme features five brand-new works, each offering a unique perspective on the body and space.

Artistic Vision & Programme

Curated by the Hong Kong Street Dance Development Alliance, The Box 7.0 invites both seasoned and emerging creators to transform the raw energy of street dance into complex, expressive stage art. The project challenges artists to deconstruct their technical roots and reassemble them into new narratives suitable for the theatre environment.

Venue and Accessibility

Performances will take place at the Cultural Activities Hall of the Ngau Chi Wan Civic Centre. The venue provides an intimate setting conducive to the detailed, physical nature of the pieces. Please note that the seating is free seating (not reserved).

Ticketing and Discounts

Standard tickets are priced at HKD 220. Early bird discounts of 10% off are available for purchases made on or before 2026-05-19. Concession tickets at HKD 160 are available for full-time students, seniors (60+), people with disabilities, and CSSA recipients (subject to availability).
