An Immersive Leap into the Future of Dance

Step into the future of performance with Wayne McGregor: On The Other Earth, a groundbreaking 57-minute immersive experience held at the JC Contemporary, Tai Kwun. This installation marks a global milestone as the world's first "post-cinematic" dance installation, bridging the gap between physical human movement and cutting-edge artificial intelligence.

The Technological Marvel

Within the custom-designed nVis circular structure—spanning 8 meters wide and 4 meters high—audiences are enveloped by 360-degree 12K LED screens featuring 26 million pixels. This environment, developed by visionaries Jeffrey Shaw and Sarah Kenderdine, dismantles the traditional "fourth wall." Each session accommodates only 20 guests, ensuring an intimate and profound engagement with the dancers from Studio Wayne McGregor and the Hong Kong Ballet.

Programme Highlights

  • Director and Choreographer: Wayne McGregor
  • Visual Concept & Tech: Jeffrey Shaw & Sarah Kenderdine
  • Soundscape: Invisible Mountain

Alongside the main performance, visitors can engage with the interactive installation eMbody: Flowing Light. This secondary experience invites participants to step into a sensory-rich, 3D immersive world where human movement, sound, and visual data collide. It is a critical component of this exhibition, allowing you to co-create art with virtual dancers. (See the detailed slot information below).
