This exhibition is dedicated to unveiling the historical narratives and intricate craftsmanship embedded within Cantonese opera costumes, showcasing items from various roles that are of great cultural value. It stands as a tribute to the rich intangible cultural heritage of Hong Kong. ## Highlights The primary allure of this exhibition lies in the rarity and historical significance of the artifacts on display. Notable costumes include those worn by Dr. Fong Yim-fun (loaned by the CUHK Shaw College Fong Yim-fun Art Legacy Project), Dr. Lam Ka-sing (loaned by Ms. Yam Tan-fung), as well as pieces by Ms. Chan Ho-kau and Ms. Leung Siu-sum. Furthermore, Mr. Lung Koon-tin has contributed his costumes to the collection, alongside wardrobe items from the Hong Kong Cantonese Opera Art Troupe's 2024 production of "The Reincarnation of Red Plum." These artifacts offer a unique glimpse into the eras and styles defined by these legendary performers. ## Organizers The event is presented by the Ho Cheun Wan-zhen Cantonese Opera Research and Art Centre at HKMU, with co-organization from the Chinese Artists Association of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Cantonese Opera Art Troupe, and the CUHK Shaw College Fong Yim-fun Art Legacy Project, highlighting a collaborative effort between academic and artistic communities to preserve Cantonese opera. ## Venue & Access The exhibition is hosted at the Ho Sik-yee Library, located on the 5th floor of the HKMU Jockey Club Campus.
