Program Overview
The "Cuju - Motion as Design, Play as Culture" exhibition, presented by the Hong Kong Design Centre, offers a reimagined perspective on the traditional concept of sports. The exhibition reframes freestyle football as a dynamic form of art and a medium for design. The Chinese title "Cuju" nods to the historical roots of street football, while "Flower" (花) represents the blossoming of freestyle culture and the evolution of Hong Kong’s identity. The English title extends a direct invitation to the public to experience the joy of football beyond traditional rules.
Highlights
The exhibition features four core zones, guiding visitors through the creative intersections of movement and design:
- Visual Timeline of Freestyle Football: Traces the evolution of freestyle football from its origins to global popularity.
- Panna KO Experience Zone: Digitally recreates the intense street "one-on-one" competition, allowing participants to experience the pure joy of the game.
- Athlete Story Wall: A multi-screen display showcasing the stories, styles, and personalities of local and international freestyle footballers.
- Motion Lab: Participants generate real-time data art through physical movement, transforming their own sports trajectories into unique visual graphics and design concepts.
