The "2026 Reading in the Community Promotion Scheme" is a cultural project initiated by the Community Cultural Development Centre (CCCD). Using the traditional musical instrument "Sheng" as a cultural connector, the scheme combines literature with local community networks to spread the culture of reading. It aims to foster community solidarity and sharing through the work of novelist Green Tea (Chen Zifeng).
Program Introduction
For this first volume of the scheme, the featured work is the new spin-off from the "Grey Music" series: "Grey Music Gaiden - The Legend of Longquan Sheng and Ou Shiqian." This novel represents a creative breakthrough for author Green Tea, blending science fiction elements with the imaginative world of Sheng music. By distributing physical copies to local shops and organizations for public reading, the scheme not only promotes high-quality local literature but also introduces the public to the beauty and imaginative potential of the traditional Sheng instrument.
About the Author and Support
The project is presented by the Community Cultural Development Centre, with forewords provided by CCCD founder Mr. Mok Chiu-yu and Dr. Ng Hoi-nga, Dean of Academic Affairs at the Caritas Institute of Higher Education. Author Green Tea has been writing since 2011, developing a unique style in his "Grey Music" series that reflects his passion for sci-fi and music, setting a new milestone for the development of Sheng art and culture.
Participation Details
The scheme is currently open for registration to local shops and organizations across Hong Kong (social service organizations will be prioritized). Selected participants will receive a book for public display and a commemorative certificate. The scheme is free of charge, with limited quotas available; successful applicants are required to sign a cooperation agreement.
