Program
The "Drawing Out, Drawing In" workshop is a spiritual journey connecting history, memory, and urban landscapes. Inspired by the long-standing tradition of image-based healing in Islamic mysticism—where displaced coastal communities in Pakistan use drawing to bridge the gap with their lost heritage—the workshop invites participants to imagine drawing as a portal to another world and a magical gate to reveal hidden memories.
The session begins with a reading of selected literary works by Siu Sai-man, serving as an entry point for deeper reflection on the Hong Kong cityscape. Participants will then engage in interactive drawing exercises and dialogues led by artist Lee Ho-wing. This process encourages a back-and-forth exploration between the external environment and the internal self, uncovering perspectives previously unseen. It is not merely a visual art workshop but a meditative exploration of self and the city.
