Jingkun Theatre is hosting a special cultural experience, "Peony Pavilion Melodies: Dragon Boat Festival Elegance," during the Dragon Boat Festival. This is not just a performance but a precious opportunity to engage closely with Kunqu opera art. Held at the Jao Tsung-I Academy, the event blends professional stage performances with an interactive music gathering, allowing participants to immerse themselves in the delicate and moving world of Kunqu in a historically rich setting.

Program

The event features a rich program presented by the young actors and musicians of the Jingkun Theatre, including:

• "The Peony Pavilion: The Interrupted Dream": A journey into the dreamy and beautiful world of Kunqu, exploring the complex emotions of Du Liniang.
• "The Peddler's Daughter: A Woman's Lament": Showcasing distinct artistic styles, this piece captures the joys, sorrows, and delicate emotional expressions within the lyrics.

Following the performance, there will be an interactive gathering, an open platform for the audience and performers to connect, share insights, and appreciate Kunqu art together.
