Overview

"We will not color each other; instead, like black, we will absorb all of each other's wavelengths, destroy our respective beliefs, and become each other's religion."

Presented by the Po Leung Kuk Youth Community Arts Promotion Center and the V54 Youth Artist Residency Scheme, this exhibition showcases the latest installation art by Yohji Girl (Charley). By suspending black curtains to define the boundaries of the exhibition space, the artist constructs a "liminal space" infused with occultism and alchemy. Drawing inspiration from her own story, Ys And Happy Ever After, the work delves into fragmented narratives amidst modern spiritual ruins, revealing the absurd essence of the contemporary soul caught between destruction and obsession.

About the Artist

Yohji Girl (Charley) is a multi-disciplinary creator with experience spanning journalism, commercial screenwriting, and art. Her screenwriting credits include popular Hong Kong TV dramas such as The Gutter, Black Gold Storm, and The Lady Regina. In her previous art exhibition, Pure Turbid Water, she deconstructed her 2020 novel The Sun of Iceland Has No Light by tearing up pages to create an immersive, sensory-driven space. Continuing this avant-garde approach, this residency project incorporates Jewish Kabbalah philosophy and Jungian psychology to explore the boundaries of narrative and sensory transformation.
