Highlights
"Titus 2.0" is a featured production of the 2nd Hong Kong International Shakespeare Festival, presented by Tang Shu-wing Theatre Studio. Since its premiere in 2009, this production has been hailed as a landmark in contemporary Hong Kong theatre and has toured across six cities in Europe and Asia, receiving international acclaim.
Program
This production boldly deconstructs Shakespeare's bloodiest tragedy, stripping away the complex set to return to the core of theatre. Director Tang Shu-wing uses minimalist lighting, seven chairs, and seven performers to create a powerful physical theatre experience. The actors shift fluidly between narrators and characters, using intense physical language and live music to guide the audience into the "black hole" of the human soul. It is a profound exploration of humanity, awakening, and purification through the classic narrative of an eye-for-an-eye revenge.
