Overview

Calligraphy is more than just an art form on paper; it is a spiritual practice that invites internal reflection. Through the ancient script style of "Seal Script" (Zhuan Shu), we invite you to rediscover the tranquility of the present moment. With its circular, balanced lines and rigorous, decorative structure, Seal Script is perfect for beginners to practice mindfulness and relieve stress through focused writing.

Program

Led by experienced calligraphy instructor Chan Chung-yin, this eight-session course is designed to guide students from the basics to more advanced techniques. The program includes:

  • Fundamental brush-holding techniques
  • Seal Script stroke instruction
  • Breaking down and reconstructing complex strokes
  • Guided practice on capturing the "present moment" through ink and brush

Upon completing the course, students' work will be crafted into calligraphy ornaments as a memento, fostering neighborhood connections and encouraging local artistic potential through the scent of ink.
