As a key event under the "2024 Community-Led Project" initiative, it aims to revitalize the endangered art of "Di Shui Nanyin" through collaborative performances featuring visually impaired students and professional artists, bringing the charm of traditional Nanyin into the local community.
Program
Presented by the Ebenezer School and Home for the Visually Impaired and funded by the Intangible Cultural Heritage Funding Scheme of the HKSAR, this concert series honors the roots of local culture. The program features a blend of classic Nanyin, expertly performed by master Du Yong and local performer Yang Enhua, alongside innovative new Nanyin-inspired nursery rhymes performed by children. It is a testament to the enduring vibrancy of traditional arts through the eyes and voices of the next generation.
Performers
The concert features renowned Huqin master and Nanyin performer Du Yong, alongside resident musician Yang Enhua and performer Liu Wai-yan. They will be joined by enthusiastic students from the Nanyin training programs, demonstrating the spirit of cross-generational artistic inheritance.
