Overview
"Wayne McGregor: On the Other Earth" is a groundbreaking, global-first post-cinema dance installation that reimagines the nature of performance. Directed by renowned choreographer Wayne McGregor and co-produced by the Hong Kong Baptist University and the Hong Kong Ballet, this exhibition transforms dance into a fluid, evolving, and transformative journey.
Highlights
- Immersive Panorama: Set within the "nVis" immersive panoramic device developed by Jeffrey Shaw and Sarah Kenderdine, the 57-minute program unfolds inside an 8-meter wide and 4-meter high cylindrical structure, enveloped by 360-degree 12K LED stereoscopic visuals and 26 million pixels.
- Interdisciplinary Fusion: The work blends choreography, digital imaging, spatial sound, and artificial intelligence, effectively breaking the "fourth wall." Visitors are invited to step into the core of the dance and experience the intersection of physical performance and high-tech digital landscapes.
- Interactive Art: Exhibited alongside is "eMbody—Dancing in the Light" by Jeffrey Shaw and Sarah Kenderdine, which invites participants into an interactive 360-degree 3D theater where their own physical movements interact with virtual dancers.
