"The Solo Stage": Monodrama Performance Workshop

Overview

The "Solo Stage" Monodrama Performance Workshop is presented by Cinematic Theatre, led by Artistic Director Lo Ching-man. This eight-session course integrates Lo's extensive theatrical expertise with rigorous pedagogical approaches to guide participants through the distinct art form of solo performance.

• Theory and Practice: Delve deep into the art of monodrama, covering personal trait expression, script analysis, and communication techniques with the audience.
• Practical Performance: Participants will prepare a 20-30 minute solo piece for a final showcase, providing an opportunity to perform for friends and family.
• Expert Guidance: Learn directly from Lo Ching-man, who has performed in numerous acclaimed solo works such as Dario Fo's "A Woman Alone", "A History of Theatre in Singapore" by Alfian Sa'at, and CCCD's "White Shadow".
• Flexible Schedule: Classes are available on Tuesdays (Class A) and Thursdays (Class B) with identical curriculum, and limited swapping is permitted (subject to availability upon payment).

Registration & Information

Prospective students must undergo a video interview (ZOOM). Notification of admission will be sent within one week of application, with payment due only upon acceptance. Spaces are limited.
