Known for the phrase 'a myriad of phenomena within a square inch,' seal carving is a profound art form. Under the guidance of instructor Ma Zhaoqi, participants will delve into the elegance of seal script lines, the rhythm of character structures, and the nuances of carving techniques. The curriculum is designed to guide students from observing natural forms and everyday objects to conceptualizing designs. Participants will undergo the entire creative process, including reading seal script, drafting, stone carving, and final mounting, bringing their unique touch to life.

Performers

The workshop is conducted by contemporary seal carver Ma Zhaoqi. Ma has a sharp sensitivity to various materials and a unique artistic style that seamlessly blends traditional seal carving vocabulary with contemporary visual art sensibilities. His works have been exhibited at the Hong Kong Museum of Art and Fine Art Asia, showcasing his deep artistic foundations and diverse creative style.
