Highlights
Celebrating the 80th anniversary of the publication of 'The Little Prince' in France, the Alliance Française de Hong Kong and the University Museum and Art Gallery (UMAG), HKU, are proud to present 'The Little Prince and the Pilot'. This exhibition is a tribute to the literary masterpiece and a cross-generational journey into the legendary life and work of the author, Saint-Exupéry.
Program
The exhibition is structured into four deep-dive thematic journeys that invite visitors to explore Saint-Exupéry's world:
- The Explorer: Showcasing historical aviation artifacts, letters, photographs, and maps that document his adventurous life as a pilot.
- The Writer: Featuring rare manuscripts, original editions, and global translations of 'The Little Prince' to illustrate the power of his literary contribution.
- The War Hero: Examining his experiences during World War II with military items, reconnaissance photographs, and an immersive VR experience of aviation history.
- Exclusive to Hong Kong — The Characters: A special display featuring tactile sculptures of characters from 'The Little Prince'. This initiative ensures an inclusive art experience, allowing visually impaired visitors to feel and appreciate the purity and storytelling through touch.
