Program
The program features two monumental works that highlight the versatility and artistic vision of Maestro Peltokoski:
- Albert Roussel: Bacchus et Ariane (Excerpts): Inspired by Greek mythology, this work uses lush orchestral colors to vividly depict the passion and romance of the myth.
- Ralph Vaughan Williams: A Sea Symphony: As the composer's first symphony, this epic work sets poetry by Walt Whitman to music. Utilizing a massive ensemble of choir and orchestra, it captures the profound and mysterious relationship between humanity and the sea in a breathtaking exploration.
