"Know Your Piano Concertos," a feature of the International Arts Carnival 2026, is curated and conducted by Hong Kong Sinfonietta Laureate Music Director Yip Wing-sie. This concert aims to demystify the piano concerto format, offering audiences an accessible yet profound exploration of the genre.
Featured Artists
The concert features a stellar lineup, headlined by renowned pianist Rachel Cheung. Beyond performing Chopin’s masterful first concerto, Rachel will share personal insights and memorable anecdotes from her experiences at the prestigious Chopin International Piano Competition. The program also highlights emerging talent, featuring two rising pianists discovered in the 2025 "Piano Star Search"—Lin Ka-wang and Lo Sum-yau—who will perform concertos by Grieg and Mozart, respectively.

- Chopin: Piano Concerto No. 1 in E minor, Op. 11 — Performed by Rachel Cheung

The concert will take place at the Hong Kong City Hall Concert Hall.
