Overview
The 4th Wind Thunder Dance Platform, presented by Wind-Up Dance and co-presented by the BeijingDance/LDTX, will be staged at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Studio Theatre from July 3 to 19, 2026. Following the philosophy of "one step at a time," this year's platform adopts the theme "Rooting and Blooming," focusing on the development and achievements of Chinese modern dance troupes established between 2010 and 2025.
Program Highlights
The platform showcases a rich curation of performances. The festival kicks off with "Miss Me, Come Watch My Painting!" (想念我,就來看我的畫吧!) by the Hong Kong Dance Company and guest choreographers Shi Xuan and Zhou Niannian (Xuan-Nian Space) from July 3 to 5. From July 17 to 19, six contemporary dance works will be presented, highlighting the symbiotic growth of art and the era.
Featured works include:
- "Divine Comedy" (神曲): Choreographed by Yu Jinying and Hu Jing, and performed by the Eagle Theatre (Beijing). Praised by Le Monde (France) as a "21-minute fairyland and dream," the piece challenges sensory boundaries, questioning the existence of dance when physical space is compressed to its limit.
- "You" (你): Choreographed by Belgian artist Luc Jacobs and performed by Half-Mountain Dancers (Changsha). Born from a longing for connection, this work explores the tension between beauty and madness, desire and transformation, pulling the audience into a realm of deep sensory and subconscious exploration.
Venue & Access
The performances will be held at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Studio Theatre in Tsim Sha Tsui. The venue is easily accessible via MTR (Tsim Sha Tsui or East Tsim Sha Tsui stations), placing you at the heart of Hong Kong's cultural hub.
