The Yu Ling Lung Cantonese Opera Troupe is proud to present three classic Cantonese opera performances at the Sha Tin Town Hall Auditorium in August 2026. Over three consecutive nights, the troupe will stage the beloved romantic legend "The Butterfly and the Red Pear Blossom," the historical drama "Zhang Yuqiao," and the comedic favorite "The Headstrong Princess and the Muddle-headed Prince." This production features a stellar cast, showcasing the talent of established artists and rising stars to provide an exceptional theatrical experience for all fans of traditional Cantonese opera.
Performers
The production features a distinguished cast, including leading performers Wong Shing-bun, Yu Ling-lung, Chan Hung-chun, Yuen Tak-cheung, and Lai Yiu-wai. Guest artists include Chow Lok-tung on August 6th and Lo Lai-sze on August 7th and 8th. The production team comprises program coordinator Pang Chiu-mei, troupe manager Yuen Sin-ting, troupe planner Siu Chi-wing, percussion director Yau Lung, music director Suen Tik-fei, and stage manager Chan Oi-lin. Production support includes stage lighting and sets by Sun Kong Hing and costumes/props by Chan Yuen Kee.
