The Charity Art Showcase features over 50 works including prints and flat-art creations. The exhibition will be held on June 1st and June 7th, 2026. This event is a call to action for the community to support the Mission for Migrant Workers. Admission is free, and donations are encouraged to help sustain the vital shelter services provided to the community.

The Karamay Artists Joint Exhibition is a poignant tribute to companionship and resilience, hosted in celebration of the Mission for Migrant Workers (MFMW) reaching its 45th anniversary. In Tagalog, the word "Karamay" embodies the spirit of standing together in times of sorrow and joy—a sentiment that serves as the core theme for this meaningful charity exhibition. By showcasing the works of over 40 artists, the event aims to bolster the center's critical advocacy and shelter services for migrant domestic workers in Hong Kong.

Exhibition Narrative

This exhibition traces its origins to the Tai Po fire incident, acting as both a memorial and a gesture of solidarity. For decades, foreign domestic workers have been the backbone of countless households and communities across Hong Kong. They live, breathe, eat, and cry alongside us. When lives are disrupted by hardship, the simple act of companionship becomes our most powerful tool. The exhibition space invites visitors to reflect on how we can offer gentle yet firm support to one another, emphasizing that we are all interconnected.

Artworks and Collaboration

Featuring over 50 pieces, the collection highlights the intersection of migrant artists and their counterparts from across Asia. A significant portion of the exhibition focuses on printmaking, a medium chosen for its deep tradition of social critique and collectivity. The process of making these prints—sharing tools, dividing tasks, and collaborative labor—mirrors the exhibition's mission. These prints, through their capacity for reproduction and distribution, bridge geographical boundaries and unite people of diverse races, languages, and cultures under a shared vision of equity.

Supporting the Cause

As noted in our Related Activities section, your visit directly contributes to the sustainability of the MFMW. By engaging with these works, visitors acknowledge the labor value and survival resilience of our migrant community, working together to build a society defined by empathy and mutual respect.

We are currently featuring the Charity Art Showcase, which spans across two primary dates in June 2026. This exhibition serves as a platform to connect the art community with the ongoing struggles and triumphs of migrant workers. Please refer to the Schedules below for specific viewing times at the St. John's Cathedral Li Hall. We encourage all attendees to participate in the donation efforts linked to these artistic works, as every contribution helps sustain the shelter's operations.
