Program Overview

'Harmony in Eternal Melody' is an original dance drama imbued with profound historical depth and artistic tension. Through the intertwining of dance and music, it recreates the shifting fortunes of the Warring States period. The story follows the relationship between the states of 'He' and 'Yue'. Following the accession of the new ruler He Cheng, the state of Yue sends envoys to offer chime bells in a bid for peace and to cease hostilities. However, the path to peace is fraught with uncertainty as assassination attempts threaten the stability, leading the general Ge Qi to advocate for war. Through meticulously choreographed sequences, the drama explores philosophical dilemmas regarding 'swords vs. bells' and 'war vs. peace', culminating in a revelation by the musician Xi Yin that uncovers deep-seated conspiracies.

Highlights

A major highlight of this production is its commitment to visual and auditory authenticity. The stage features precise 1:1 replicas of national treasure instruments from the Hubei Provincial Museum, including chime bells, stone chimes, and tiger-seat bird-shaped drums. These instruments not only provide a sonorous experience echoing the ancient world but also visually embody the grandeur and elegance of Chu culture. Director Wang Ge employs a contemporary aesthetic to reinterpret traditional history, breathing new life into this ancient epic.
