Often referred to as the 'Symphony of a Thousand,' this monumental work is one of the most ambitious compositions in the symphonic repertoire. This performance not only showcases Peltokoski's artistic vision but also signifies a historic milestone as the HK Phil completes its cycle of performing all of Mahler’s symphonies. Peltokoski describes the work as 'cosmic, universal, and transcendent,' capturing some of the deepest and most fundamental human qualities.
