Overview
The Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra (HK Phil) proudly presents the "Colour and Wit" concert, featuring conductor Islin and pianist Pongmitrap. This performance promises a dynamic journey through themes of power and metamorphosis. The concert opens with John Adams' exhilarating "Short Ride in a Fast Machine," followed by Paul Hindemith's dazzling "Symphonic Metamorphosis of Themes by Carl Maria von Weber." Pianist Pongmitrap will showcase the virtuosity of Carl Vine’s Piano Concerto No. 2, where the final movement is inspired by the brilliant colors of the Australian summer sky. The program also highlights the Asia premiere of "Oh, What a Beautiful Day" by Finnish composer and HKUST Composer-in-Residence, Ilari.
