"Wind and Moon Nanyin: Rap of The Golden Lotus" is a highlight from the ongoing "Golden Lotus" series, an experimental collaboration between contemporary dancer Pun Yin-san and Yat Chi Gong Gu, launched in 2024. Returning for an encore performance, the show delves into the narrative of Pan Jinlian, transforming the classic literary figure through visceral Nanyin singing, Western percussion, and the modular textures of a Eurorack synthesizer. This production offers a unique sonic experience, stripping away traditional constraints to create a provocative, avant-garde retelling of a legendary tale.
