Program Introduction

The "Art Expressing Traditional Wisdom" project brings together a group of emerging artists guided by mentors Cheung Wai-sze, Hao Li-ren, and Lo Ho-yee. This exhibition delves deep into three elemental forces of nature—soil, plants, and sounds—connecting them with the fabric of modern life, including food, clothing, housing, and transportation, alongside the preservation of rural culture. Through their creative lenses, the artists reimagine rural wisdom not just as generational stories, but as a living history that remains relevant to our current era. This exhibition aims to raise public awareness of the preservation and innovation of rural culture, inspiring profound resonance with the land and traditional experiences.

Highlights

  • In-depth Rural Exploration: Inspired by field research at Lai Chi Wo, the artists have translated their observations of natural ecology into tangible and thought-provoking art pieces.
  • Diverse Perspectives: Featuring a group of talented young artists, the exhibition showcases unique viewpoints on the intersection of traditional heritage and contemporary lifestyle.
  • Free Admission: The exhibition is hosted at the Alice King Gallery and is free for public attendance. We invite everyone to come and experience how traditional wisdom can be preserved, innovated, and continued.
