In conjunction with the exhibition 'Grand Han Winds: A Prosperous Era of Vigour and Fusion', the Antiquities and Monuments Office presents a special lecture titled 'Chu Style in a City, A Millennium in an Artifact: Decoding Western Han Chu Dynasty Jades Excavated in Xuzhou'. Jade played a pivotal role in Western Han Chu culture, serving not only as a symbol of status and power but also reflecting the exquisite craftsmanship and aesthetic tastes of the era. About the Speaker
We are honored to have Mr. Miao Hua, Head of the Collection Department at the Xuzhou Museum (Xuzhou Han Stone Relief Art Museum), as our guest speaker. With extensive professional expertise in Han dynasty artifacts and collection management, Mr. Miao will guide the audience through a thousand years of history to decode the cultural significance behind these precious jades.
