The Chinese Culture Festival 2026 proudly welcomes the prestigious Luoyang Yu Opera Troupe to Hong Kong. Celebrating the profound legacy of Master Ma Jinfeng, this production showcases the unique 'Shuai Dan' (commander) style—a bold, resilient, and masterfully resonant performance tradition known as the 'Luoyang Peony'. Lead artist Guan Meili, a direct disciple of Ma Jinfeng, will be joined by fellow Plum Blossom Prize winners Wang Hui and Jia Wenzhou for a spectacular series of performances.

The Programmes

This residency is divided into two distinct sessions at the Ko Shan Theatre New Wing:

  1. Mu Guiying Takes Command: A legendary epic recounting the resilience of Mu Guiying.
  2. Highlights & Excerpts: A curated showcase of iconic Ma-style repertoire including Flower Gun Fate and Flower Hits the Court.
  • July 17, 2026 (7:30 PM): Mu Guiying Takes Command. Witness the powerhouse vocals and the grand 'Three Cannons at the Gate' sequence that defined Ma Jinfeng’s career.
  • July 18, 2026 (7:30 PM): Excerpts Gala. A collection of comedic and dramatic masterpieces such as Flower Gun Fate, Flower Hits the Court, and Five Generations Requesting to Serve.
