He will lead the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra alongside two celebrated soloists: Erhu master Ru Yi and Suona virtuoso Liu Wenwen. This concert is designed to explore the vibrant dialogues between strings and wind instruments, highlighting the dynamic intersection of traditional and contemporary Chinese orchestral music. With Wu Qiang's precise command of orchestral colors, audiences can expect a deeply layered musical experience that showcases the enduring creativity of Chinese music.

Program

The program is a masterclass in blending cultural tradition with symphonic grandeur. Key works include the folk-inspired Flower Waist Three Red by Zhou Xianglin, the epic Legend of Sadier by Liu Yuan, and the refined Four Seasons at Lingering Garden by Wang Danhong. Highlighting the evening, Suona virtuoso Liu Wenwen will perform Li Bochan's concerto Nirvana of the Century, noted for its explosive power. Ru Yi will grace the stage with Sun Wenming's Tan Yue and Night Bamboo Flute, as well as an arrangement of Zhou Yuguo's Yun Shang Su, pushing the boundaries of traditional Erhu artistry.
