Overview

"Co-creation 50 - HKCO X CASH" is a grand concert celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra and the Composers and Authors Society of Hong Kong (CASH). This event honors the long-standing collaboration between the two institutions and serves as a tribute to half a century of significant achievements in Hong Kong's musical composition. Under the baton of Artistic Director Yan Huichang, the orchestra will perform a selection of iconic works that have defined an era.

Performers

Joining the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra for this special occasion is the Hong Kong Children's Choir, adding a touch of vocal clarity and vibrancy to the orchestral performance. Under the direction of Yan Huichang, these musical pieces will be brought to life, showcasing a unique blend of contemporary artistry and the distinctive charm of Chinese orchestral music.

Highlights

The program features masterpieces by winners of the "CASH Music Achievement Award." Highlights include "The World of Insects" by Lin Lepei, "Destiny" by Ng Tai-kong, "Hope" by Luo Yonghui and Zheng Guojiang, and the classic musical excerpt "Walled City Scenes" by Chen Nengji. Additionally, the concert presents "Phoenix Nirvana" by Chan Wing-wah, "Harvest Festival" by Kuan Nai-chung, "Tang Echo" by Ng Cheuk-yin, and the legendary "Below the Lion Rock" by Joseph Koo and James Wong, offering a journey through time and the creative vitality of Hong Kong's music history.
