An Artistic Journey of Exchange and Legacy

As a highlight of the French May Arts Festival 2026, the artist residency sharing session 'In Body & Legacy' (《以身相承》) offers a unique window into the collaborative spirit of international artistic exchange. This special session held at the iconic Tai Kwun Laundry Steps brings together the French collective Cirque du Corbak and a vibrant group of local collaborators, including the renowned local dance organization Unlock Dancing Plaza, students from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA), and various local youths.

The Residency Experience

This residency project focused on intensive technical exchanges, creative research, and exploration. Over the course of their stay, the artists engaged in deep dialogues and collaborative experimentations, pushing the boundaries of movement, circus arts, and contemporary performance. By bringing together diverse backgrounds—from professional dancers to emerging students—the project sought to explore how heritage and modern innovation can intertwine.

Sharing Session Details

During this sharing session, the artists and collaborators will:

  • Reflect on the process: Discuss the challenges and breakthroughs encountered during their creative residency.
  • Demonstrate insights: Share specific movement techniques and artistic approaches developed during their time in Hong Kong.
  • Connect with the public: Engage in an open dialogue about the future of performance arts and the role of international cooperation in shaping the local scene.

Note: The sharing session will be conducted in English. It is free to attend, but we encourage early arrival to secure a spot at the open-air Laundry Steps.
