"Gods and Heroes" is a captivating French Baroque musical production. By presenting selected French Baroque cantatas, operas, and ballet pieces, the performance delicately portrays the subtle boundary between deities and mortals. It delves into the philosophical questions of "resilience" and "fragility," revealing that gods and humans alike are bound by the same destiny of love, sorrow, and joy, making it a truly enlightening experience.

Program

This concert transports the audience back to the French Baroque era, telling the stories of two iconic figures through music: Ulysses, the mortal hero striving for survival on the open seas, and the goddess Venus, caught in the throes of love and heartbreak. The concert illustrates that whether divine or human, both existences face the same raw emotions and struggles when confronted with the tides of fate.
