Program

The story is set in the mid-Tang Dynasty. After Dunhuang remained 'out of contact' with central China for over half a century, the emissary mission led by Gao Jinda braved the treacherous northern deserts. Driven by the unwavering belief in returning home, they risked everything to deliver the map of Shazhou (Dunhuang) to Chang'an. The performance unfolds through evocative chapters, from the tragic heroics of the mission to the heart-pounding pursuits and eventual triumphant 'return' to the capital, highlighting themes of sacrifice, loyalty, and faith.
