Highlights
Part of the "Musicus Heritage" series curated by Artistic Director Trey Lee, "Echoes of Autumnal Rhyme" brings chamber music into the heart of historic architecture. Hosted at the Hong Kong News-Expo, a site with a rich past as the former Bridges Street Market, this program bridges the gap between classical music and the community's collective memory. Attendees are invited to experience a unique blend of live chamber music and curated heritage tours.
Program
As summer fades into autumn, the concert explores themes of harvest, reunion, and gratitude. The carefully curated repertoire includes Vivaldi's vibrant "Autumn" (from The Four Seasons), the contemplative and prayerful third movement of Beethoven's String Quartet No. 15, and Aaron Copland's energetic "Hoe-Down" (from Rodeo, in a string arrangement). The concert lasts approximately 40 minutes, followed by a one-hour guided heritage tour (conducted in Cantonese) that reveals the stories behind the former market building and the history of news in Hong Kong.
