The Hong Kong Repertory Theatre proudly presents 'The Diary of Song 2026'. Directed by Artistic Director Poon Wai-sum, this highly anticipated revival returns after nine years with fresh musical elements. The play reimagines the legendary figure Wu Song from 'Water Margin' through a modern lens, depicting his journey from a famous tiger-slayer to an unemployed man who documents his life's struggles and joys with a pen instead of a sword. It is a profound reflection on the struggle between ideals and reality that modern individuals face.

From its 2017 premiere to the 2026 revival, the story of Wu Song has been reborn. Director Poon Wai-sum reflects, 'The diary remains the same, but the Wu Song of the diary has changed, like flowers falling and blooming.' Through Wu Song's entries, the play mirrors the struggles and paths of every individual. The dilemmas faced by the heroes of Liangshan serve as a reflection for anyone lost in today's society, seeking purpose and meaning. This production is part of the 'Chinese Culture Festival 2026'.
