Highlights
The Sound Recording Workshop, presented by the Hong Kong Jazz Association, offers a unique opportunity to explore sound art within the local community. Following the success of the "Future Instruments Workshop," the association invites sound artist AK (Kan Hei-chun) to lead participants on an immersive field recording experience in the heart of Wan Chai.
Program Overview
During this workshop, participants will receive hands-on training with professional audio recording equipment. Guided by sound artist AK, you will learn techniques to capture ambient sounds often overlooked in our daily hustle. Located at the historic Blue House cluster, the session encourages participants to traverse the streets and alleys of Wan Chai, learning to listen to the rhythm and pulse of the city. This workshop is more than a technical class—it is an exploration of the connection between sound, environment, and personal perception. Participants are welcome to take their recorded audio samples home to review, edit, or incorporate into their own creative projects.
