Program Introduction

Following the success of the 2022 award-winning production "Koya-san no Kanojo", Yakusha Theatre presents their latest theatrical work: "The Detective's Log of the Vagrant in Sumida River". Adapted from Edogawa Rampo's classic "The Beast" (Inju), this play transports the audience into the romance and mystery of the Taisho era. It explores the psychological battle between a writer and a detective, delving into the blurred lines between literary creation and crime.

Performers

Directed by Chan Chi-wah, the production stars Lam Pui-lim, a recipient of the IATC(HK) Critic's Award for Best Actor and the Hong Kong Arts Development Council Artist of the Year award. Featuring actor Soko Izumi, the cast promises a compelling and profound performance.

Venue & Access

The performance will take place at the HKRep Black Box Theatre. Audience members are advised to arrive early as there is no assigned seating. Please note that this program is not suitable for children under six years old.

Ticketing

Tickets are available on the art-mate online platform. Standard tickets are HKD 300. Concession tickets at HKD 210 are available for full-time students, senior citizens aged 60+, people with disabilities and their caretakers, and recipients of the Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) scheme. Tickets are limited while supplies last.
