A Journey Through Time: Postman Chan's Lens
If history were a letter, who would be the one to deliver it? For 27 years, Mr. Chan Ming-keung, fondly known as Postman Chan, traversed the rugged hills and pastures of Pok Fu Lam Village. In the 1970s, long before the convenience of digital cameras and instant editing, he captured the evolution of this unique urban-rural landscape using his vintage camera.
Today, these images are not just static photographs; they are a bridge across time. The exhibition, "Postman Chan Photography Exhibition", showcases his meticulous hand-stitched panoramic photographs, documenting the village's transformation. Compiled into the newly released book "Postman Chan: A Love Letter from the Postman to the Future of Hong Kong", these images invite you to 'sign for' a piece of history that remains deeply personal and undeniably moving. This event represents a monumental digital conservation movement sparked by villagers who have dedicated 17 years to preserving their collective heritage.
