The Hong Kong Youth Choir (HKYC) proudly presents the second installment of its "Choral and Poetry" series: Dickinson's Descant. This performance invites the audience to experience the intersection of literature and melody, turning silent poetry into resonant choral compositions.

Program Introduction

Following their exploration of e.e. cummings’ whimsical world, the choir now turns its attention to the ethereal and abstract universe of Emily Dickinson. This concert features a repertoire of choral works that transform Dickinson's timeless verses into expansive musical phrases. Through these songs, the choir will delve into themes of self, nature, life and death, and subtle rebellion. Additionally, the program includes the premiere of selected works from the "One-Minute Choral Composition" open call, showcasing the choir's commitment to contemporary music.
