Diction Lab proudly presents 'Let's Dance', a musical journey through time. Opera arias are not merely a platform for showcasing vocal prowess but are also moments where characters reveal their most intimate feelings. This performance uniquely integrates dance elements, bridging the gap between what is heard and what is seen through the performers' movements, stage craft, and musical phrasing. The concert explores 11 distinct dance styles found within opera arias from the 17th to the 20th centuries, offering a sensory feast for the audience.

Program

When orchestras introduce recognizable dance rhythms into arias, the music becomes more accessible, allowing the audience to easily grasp the character's inner world while appreciating the coloratura and intricate ornamentation. This concert features a curated selection of operatic pieces that illustrate how dance styles function as a key to emotional expression and narrative development.
