Program

Set in the chaotic final years of the Cao Wei period, the play tells the story of Ji Kang, a scholar who chose to retire to the bamboo groves to escape the turmoil of the Sima family's power struggle. In a dream, he is taught the legendary 'Guangling San' by a celestial being. Despite foreseeing the danger, he masters the tune. Facing threats from political figures like Zhong Hui and the Sima clan, Ji Kang refuses to compromise his values. When he is eventually unjustly sentenced to death, he performs 'Guangling San' one last time at the execution grounds, leaving behind an eternal legacy of a scholar's unwavering spirit.
