[CANTILENA Inaugural Concert] SOIRÉE MUSICALE with ROMER QUARTET and LENK

Led by the esteemed musician Nancy Loo, the CANTILENA music series is officially launching. This series is dedicated to promoting chamber music, featuring monthly events including chamber music recitals, insightful music talks, new composition trials, and free jam sessions. The inaugural concert, "CANTILENA Inaugural Concert," features a carefully curated selection of classic and contemporary chamber pieces, inviting music lovers to witness the beginning of this musical journey.

Program

The concert features a diverse array of chamber works, showcasing a range from classical to contemporary styles:

• Arvo Pärt: Mozart-Adagio: A beautiful work paying tribute to the classical era through minimalism.
• Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Clarinet Quintet, K581: One of the most famous clarinet quintets in chamber music history, known for its elegant and flowing melodies.
• Louise Farrenc: Clarinet Trio in E-Flat Major, Op.44: A showcase of the delicate chamber music style of 19th-century French composers.
• Chan Kai-young: à la recherche de la lune: A poetic and exploratory contemporary work by local composer Chan Kai-young.
• Sergei Prokofiev: Overture on Hebrew Themes for Clarinet, String Quartet, and Piano, Op. 34: A piece with distinct style, filled with strong folk characteristics and dramatic tension.

Ticketing

• Standard Ticket: HK$250.
• Concession Ticket: HK$150 (Available for full-time students, seniors aged 60+, people with disabilities and their minders, and CSSA recipients).
• Notes: Seating is unassigned. The event is suitable for audiences aged 6 and above. Please arrive on time; latecomers will only be admitted at suitable intervals. The organizer reserves the right to change the program, performers, and seating arrangements.
