Highlights
"House" is a thought-provoking play reading that explores how trauma shapes our lives through delicate writing and performance. It is more than just a story about loss and memory; it is a self-dialogue about finding meaning under the weight of truth. In the intimate setting of The Box at Freespace, West Kowloon Cultural District, audiences will witness a moving story about encounters within the gaps of fate.
Program Introduction
"Searching for the truth is to move forward, but sometimes, the truth makes it impossible to continue." This is a story about memory, trauma, and encounters. The protagonist, Sun, lost the most important people in his life at a young age, leading him to seal himself off while caring for his father, who suffers from dementia. While working at a tea restaurant, he encounters a mysterious woman, W, and his friend introduces him to a girl named A-mei. With the arrival of these two women, the painful past that Sun has desperately wanted to forget is gradually awakened. Meanwhile, another woman is admitted to a psychiatric hospital for reasons that cannot be explained. A son abandoned by his mother, and a mother who left her child—two seemingly unrelated lives may, in the cracks of fate, finally have a chance to be seen by each other.
