Program Overview

"One Step Ahead," a featured production in the Hong Kong Repertory Theatre’s "Text Testing Zone" series, delves deep into the complexities of human resilience and relational dynamics. The narrative follows He Gu, who, after hitting a personal low, turns to badminton coaching under Dong Chao-chen to regain his life's rhythm and attempt to salvage his relationship with his girlfriend, Ye Zhi. As they navigate the court, the matches evolve into a struggle of strategy and emotion, complicated further by the arrival of Ye's cousin, Leng Mingmei, whose presence brings hidden history and tension to the surface.
