Hong Kong Sinfonietta is proud to present the 'Legacy of Bach' concert, a celebration of musical history and artistic evolution. This special program features world-renowned recorder virtuoso Stefan Temmingh alongside celebrated harpsichordist Sebastian Wienand. Together, they will explore the rich musical heritage of the Bach family and their contemporaries, culminating in the Asian premiere of Elena Kats-Chernin’s 'Re-Inventions' (2004), demonstrating how classical traditions find new life in modern interpretations.

The concert offers a diverse selection of works, ranging from Baroque masterpieces to creative contemporary adaptations. The program includes:

  • J.S. Bach: Organ Concerto, BWV 593 (transcribed from Vivaldi’s Double Violin Concerto, RV 522) (Recorder & Harpsichord version)
  • J.C. Bach: Keyboard Concerto No. 6 in F minor, W C73
  • Elena Kats-Chernin: 'Re-Inventions' (2004) (Asian Premiere): No. 2 (after J.S. Bach’s Invention No. 4, for Tenor Recorder) and No. 6 (after J.S. Bach’s Invention No. 10, for Sopranino Recorder)
  • J.S. / C.P.E. Bach: Sonata in E-flat major, BWV 1031 / H 545
  • Marcello: Oboe Concerto in D minor, SZ 799 (Recorder version)
