Highlights

"Tranquil State" is more than an art exhibition; it is an intimate dialogue with the self. Created over a span of three years, artist Lai Wei Lin fuses the tranquility of traditional Gongbi (fine brush) techniques with structured geometric patterns, offering a serene sanctuary for viewers amidst the urban chaos of Central. The exhibition invites visitors to slow down and reflect on the moments that define our existence, from childhood memories to future visions.

About the Exhibition

This debut solo exhibition by artist Lai Wei Lin (born 1990) presents a collection born from three years of dedicated creative practice. The works serve as a profound reflection on the passage of time, bridging childhood memories with visions of the future. By incorporating elements such as vintage floor tiles, patterned textiles, and views from distant windows, Lai weaves a narrative that feels both personal and universal.

Curator and 3812 Gallery Director Agnes Wu notes that the artist meticulously reconstructs fragments of the past—rural remnants and urban struggles—into a space imbued with warmth and nostalgia. The exhibition captures a sense of stillness, providing a refuge where the inner and outer worlds converge.
