Overview
This Mid-Autumn Festival, the historic "Pokfulam Farm" invites you to the "Moonlight at the Farm" special project. More than just a celebration, this event is a cultural dialogue about taste, traditional craftsmanship, and architectural aesthetics. Through a series of curated workshops, you can experience the festive spirit and local culture within the unique setting of this historic site.
Program Highlights
Cow-Patterned Snow Skin Mooncakes
Inspired by the farm’s iconic black-and-white cows, participants will craft snow skin mooncakes with a purple yam and milk mochi filling. This dessert is not only visually adorable but also offers a delicious, soft, and chewy texture—a perfect seasonal treat.
Traditional Bamboo Rabbit Lanterns
Led by Master Ng Kong-kon from Pokfulam Village, this workshop offers a rare opportunity to learn traditional bamboo crafting. From building the bamboo structure to paper mounting and decoration, you will handcraft your own rabbit lantern while gaining insight into Hong Kong's disappearing traditional arts.
"Ox-eye" Window Light Workshop
Inspired by the distinctive circular "ox-eye" windows found in the farm's main building—originally designed for ventilation and moisture protection—participants will transform these architectural lines and light patterns into their very own creative night lamps.
